Some personal items found after March 2 storms can be brought to Recorder’s Offices PDF Print E-mail

March 2 storm victims know what it’s like to lose everything, including precious family photos, certificates and personal papers.
Now, victims are being encouraged to contact their county recorders’ offices because those who have found such items after the storms are being asked to bring them to those offices.


Clark County’s Recorder’s Office is located at 501 East Court Avenue in Jeffersonville. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The office may be reached at 1-812-285-6235. The Jefferson County Recorder is located at the Courthouse at 300 East Main Street, Madison. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number is 812-265-8903.In Scott County, the Recorder’s Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse in downtown Scottsburg. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Recorder Missy Applegate and her chief deputy, Brenda Roth, can be reached by calling 1-812-752-8442.
